Plymouth Engineering, Inc. was started in 1990. The company began as a part-time venture with the purpose of providing professional engineering services to qualified design/build contracting firms as well as to several select, local developers. The need for prompt, reasonably priced, professional services in the New England area led an ever-increasing number of clients to Plymouth Engineering. The first office was opened in a converted garage on the owner’s farm. In 1994, part-time drafting and engineering were added to meet the increasing workload. The company's current office was opened in the village of Plymouth in 1995. Over the past years, additional full-time staff has been added to keep up with the ever-increasing workload in the private and public sectors, including many different industries. Currently, the firm is still based in Plymouth, but also has part of its building design staff housed in the Bangor area.
Plymouth Engineering specializes in the fields of civil/site, structural, environmental engineering and Construction Administration. We also provide planning and landscape architecture services. PEI supply a full range of services to private, commercial, industrial, governmental, and institutional clients. Our in-house professionals are registered in most of the New England states, and are familiar with each state’s regulatory programs. Local, State, and Federal environmental permitting is available through Plymouth Engineering as a pre-cursor to final engineering design.
Plymouth Engineering has made a conscious effort to remain a smaller, quality-based firm. We have avoided the temptation to add personnel as the workload grew, so that the principals of the firm may remain involved with each and every project. Each project team is selected on a case by case basis, and staff is only brought on for their specific project-related experience and expertise.
We pride ourselves in maintaining a local, low overhead operation. Many times, our pricing seems to be lower than other firms. That is not because of lesser effort, but lower hourly rates. We encourage you to review our hourly rates when compared to those of other firms.
